Losing Audio on disconnect/low bit rate

I've been having issues with my ISP recently whereby the bit rate goes unstable for short periods of time. Have had OBS disconnect-reconnect in very short space of time but I always lose audio and the only way I have found to get it back is stop/start the stream... obviously not great.

Is there a way to recover the audio without having to stop the stream?
 
Just wanted to add. The Audio Mixer still shows the mic is recognised by OBS, it's just that the audio isn't transmitting to the stream
 
Also, just watched the Twitch vod back and the audio is fine. So it's just the live audio that drops on a reconnect.

Any clue how to get it back without restarting the stream or restarting OBS?
