Question / Help Looking for broadcast software

I'm looking for the broadcast software that will work best for me.

Now strictly speaking, since this is an open-source project, the question becomes less of "Can the software do this" and more of "What would it take to get the software to do this," but that terminology can make it sound like I know the software, so I'm going to phrase this as "can it."

I would like to broadcast what I am seeing on my computer screen, screen capture or whatever the term is.
But I have three monitors, and one isn't the same resolution as the others. I am wondering what is involved in broadcasting from multiple sources like this.
Can I switch what monitor is being broadcast on the fly during a broadcast? Can this be done with a simple, perhaps single-click command? Can I set it up so it just follows my cursor and broadcasts whatever monitor my cursor is over?

Also, I have a PVR. I don't anticipate ever switching between the PVR and the desktop in a single broadcast, but if I ever did, is that possible? Can I just jump around freely between these four sources?

The HD PVR isn't compatible with OBS yet, unfortunately.

OBS also currently doesn't have the capability of following the mouse around, so you'll have to set up several monitor captures on different scenes and switch between them manually.

Before I spend a bunch of time installing and setting up the program, what is involved in switching between screens manually?
Can it be done in the middle of a broadcast without interrupting the feed? Do I have to go through a menu to select an option, or is there a simple toggle I can hit? Basically, if I switched screens right in the middle of a broadcast, how much hassle would it be?
Also, would there be any problems if one monitor was a different size and aspect ratio?

You can set hotkeys for each scene, so you can just press a button and it will switch. If you don't set up hotkeys, it's as simple as clicking on the scene to switch scenes.

There won't be a "problem" if monitors are different sizes or aspect ratios, but you'll have to accept that since you can't change the resolution of the video while recording, you'll have some empty spots when to switch to a monitor whose aspect ratio doesn't match your video's resolution.

I advise you to just download it any try it. It's really not that bad. You can follow the quickstart guide to get up and running quickly: https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/official-quick-start-guide.5/
