Ok, when I recorded something which lasts several hours (the video play time being several hours), it no longer plays in mplayerc, it gives a cannot render the file message at bottom of player, before it played fine. All play lengths are fine up to like 1 hour and a half, but then when i play something a few hours long i get the message, the video works fine in other players. mplayerc is my main player and the one i use for everything and so highly do not want to start using another player.

Get the 64bit versions of the players if you're able. This is a semi-common problem for programs like VLC as well, and the only way to alleviate the problem is by getting the 64bit version of VLC usually, though that really just applies to VLC not MPC. Not sure about MPC, I'm pretty sure it operates on external codecs.

So then obs, when it makes the file, it gives it external codecs?

This should probably be reported to the authors of MPC.
It worked before, like 2 weeks back so i saw it as an issues with obs. I dont see why there would be a need to report to mpc authors, unless mpc had had an update, which i dont think there has been one.
