Question / Help Logitech Driver and OBS: Bluescreens

Hello Everyone,

I record long sessions of video (about 8 hours straight) on multiple computers each day on OBS using a Logitech C615 webcam but occasionally the computers bluescreen during the recordings due to a Logitech driver called lvrs64.sys which causes me to lose all my video footage. I already have the most up to date driver for it (Software Version: 2.80.853.0a) from 2012. Yes you read that right, the most up to date Logitech driver is from 2012. This driver does not seem to be compatible with the more recent versions of OBS because it is always the cause of bluescreens when I try to record video with OBS. I've already deleted the installed Logitech software that shows up in Control Panel but that still does not delete the actual lvrs64.sys file which still causes bluescreens.

I'm not sure what to do about these bluescreens. I've been looking for suggestions on this forum and others for a webcam that will work and not bluescreen the computer while using OBS but everyone keeps recommending Logitech webcams (!!!) which makes absolutely no sense to me since this is a very common issue with no solution in sight (everyone just says update the driver, doesn't work). I could just completely uninstall the Logitech driver or delete the lvrs64.sys file but then the webcam just straight up doesn't function. Am I missing the proper fix to this type of bluescreen? If not, what webcam can I use that won't bluescreen my computer?

OBS can't cause bluescreens, it's a fault entirely in the driver. There's nothing we can really do.

Ultimately, you will need to reach out to Logitech directly and ask them for assistance with correcting the bluescreen.
