Hello there!
I have a problem with my C920 Webcam. Its works fine with all applications like Skype or OBS Studio but I want to use it with OBS Classic. It worked well in the past but now everytime I start a preview or start streaming all USB devices crash but are back after a few seconds. But not the C920. The Picture is frozen and there is no other way to fix it than restarting the stream. And then the same things happen again. It all works fine and nothing crashes, when the C920 is disabled. I came to the conclusion that the problem is OBS Classic and not the camera itself since it it working fine with every other programm.

I have one C920 and two C910 cameras. I can get the C920 to play fine.
I had an Asus board but bricked it... everything worked great on it...but it was 6 years old.screwed up trying to update the bios... Using Win 7 ultimate.
Tried to get new mother board and got two Asus bad in a row. Went to Gigabyte.
Re installed OB classic. Now, I can get all three cameras to work on all the other video programs, but OB is giving me fits. I set up to select cam 1 cam 2 cam 3 When in preview mode, I can get C920 to work. But, when trying to unclick and click to another camera, it balks. I have to sometimes stop preview, then click on another camera, Sometimes works other times not.
I cast on Vaughnlive.tv and when streaming, it will lock up and not let me switch between cameras.
I have tested streaming with FlashMedia and have better luck...but there you have to stop the stream to change cameras. I can use all three cameras in my video capture programs like Corel and Cyberlink power dir.
So, I am like you...a bit stumped.
I have come to the conclusion that I need to plug my cameras into usb 2.0 sockets... but....in a plug that is coming directly off of the motherboard pin header.
The cams will also work off of 3.0 usb...but I am going to have to add two 20 pin connectors to mother board to get some extras.
So, bottom line...I think that unless you have band width and power on the ports, your cameras will not function correctly.
Have the ports ordered... will up date later if any luck .
