OBS is able to record many hours to any video format. As long as there is disk space, it will work.
It is not recommended to record to mp4, though. Mp4 must be finalized, otherwise the whole file is unusable. If OBS or the whole PC crashes and a recording is running, the file that was being written to is destroyed beyond repair.
The recommended file format is mkv. It is resistant to truncation.
