Question / Help [Local Recording] No Video when editing with camtasia

Hi. I can say that OBS is the best software for capture video games but i Have 1 problem. I can't edit my videos (Local recording) with Camtasia... I enable CFR and there is no video .. only sound. I don't use CBR .. my quality balance its in 8 and the Max Bitrate its - 4000 ( no custom buffer size )

So here it is ... When the video is captured, Camtasia dont recognize any video ... only the audio. How can i Fix this ?

I unfortunately don't quite know, for videos to be recognized by most programs, you do indeed have to have CFR turned on and use AAC, and if you're already doing that then I'm not quite sure why it wouldn't be showing up. I think it has something to do with the MP4 format stuff we're using at the moment, but not entirely sure. You might also want to try FLV if possible.

If it works in MPC/VLC/etc but not camtasia, camtasia's decoders are out of date.

Unfortunately I don't really know in this case. In the future we'll have more options for file output, I'm hoping that any decoding issues can be solved more easily when using other encoders later on in project development.

im having this same problem with my OBS/camtasia videos. Only when i change the vid's path to avi through another video editing software program does it actually show the video on Camtasia

Basstia, it would be good to see a log file from you.

As for Boza, it's possible that something about the way QSV is encoding the video is preventing it from working in Camtasia.

Even when its x264 again gives the same result... No video, only audio.

Hmm, doing a ts-copy with ffmpeg my test file works in camtasia. Only real difference I could spot is that OBS saves the Audio as track 1 and Video as track 2, while ffmpeg changes this to Video 1 and Audio 2.
So guys, if you want to use the mp4's, just download the latest compiled ffmpeg to your pc and use:
ffmpeg -i video.mp4 -c copy -copyts new_video.mp4
This will simply copy both tracks and change the order so it should work in Camtasia. There is no conversion being done so the quality will stay the same.
