Hey everyone,

Log file here: https://gist.github.com/69bd0622a993c350a6af9ba1731cc322

I've been using OBS for a few days now, and am loving it. However, I have an issue. When trying to capture Doom (2016) or Outlast 2 (2017), FPS IN game is perfect, but the output video looks chopping and probably around 25 FPS.

My spec:

Acer Predator Laptop
i7-6700 process
GTX-1070
16GB Ram

I'm also using DSR to downscale a larger resolution to 1080p. However, the choppy video happens even when I turn this off.

Settings inside OBS:

Capture specific window
Scale Filter (Bicubic) to resize to 1920 x 1080
x264
30000 bitrate

CPU gets to around 50% usage when the game and OBS are running, so it must be a setting somewhere.

Thanks in advance for your help. Awesome community!

Ed

Unfortunately it's still a bit of an issue. Even with overclocking my GPU, settings the proecss priority for OBS as high, turning v-sync on, reducing resolution, reducing bitrate of recordings, and many other things to lighten the load, the game recordings are still not smooth.

I've seen other people recording these games using OBS, and they appear to have no such issues. Log below. If anyone can help, I'd really appreciate it.

Bump!

I assume people with lower spec laptops are able to record games like Doom and Outlast 2 without dropping frames in this way. I've seen the videos on YouTube. Does anyone have any ideas/
