Hi team/guys

I'm just wondering if there's a walk through similar to https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/how-to-make-high-quality-local-recordings.16/ . But for Nvidia cards.

Here's a list of my computer parts if that helps.

Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core
Corsair H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid
Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming G1 WIFI-BK ATX LGA1150
Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB 2x8GB DDR3 2400MHz PC3 19200
Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" SSD
Seagate Barracuda 3TB 3.5" 7200RPM
EVGA GeForce GTX 780 3GB Dual Classified ACX --SLI
EVGA GeForce GTX 780 3GB Dual Classified ACX --SLI

I've attempted to do this myself but the recording is very choppy, while in game it was perfect.

Thanks in advance.

OBS doesn't work well with SLI mode. Record in single GPU mode instead. If you must use SLI, you'd be better off with another recording software. I presume Shadowplay works with SLI, but if it has the same limitation, you may be out of luck except by using a 2nd PC & capture card, for SLI recording.

Also, change your preset to High Performance and change your bitrate to 20,000 or 30,000. Kepler series GPUs choke on High Quality preset, so don't use it.

Mostly right, as SLI + OBS = BAD video choppinness

I use DXTory to output via Direct Show, and then add this as a global source in OBS, to record with NVENC.
It's much better in terms of frame rate drop than DXTory->h264

Thanks for the help!! I'LL experiment with a single GPU. I'll give xsplit, shadowplay and DXTory a go. Would SLI still cause issues if I use the CPU/x264?

Yes. SLI is essentially incompatible with how OBS works, from what I've read elsewhere on these forums.
