Hello, recently i came into an issue where OBS crashed as i was ending the recording. I had the file-type set to mp4 instead of flv so i wouldn't have to convert them afterwards which takes time i don't have available to me. The converting software i used recently before switching i encounter weird effects that are only visible when I'm editing and rendering the video, said video available on my channel, making me want to use that for only the short replays from the replay buffer set to 5 mins. My video editing software however will not open the .flv format.

Please can you suggest some file-types that i would be able to use with VEGAS Movie Studio 14 Platinum. Preferably i would like to use one that works in OBS Classic as i have had better experiences and reliability with classic than studio. My current install is known to have obs crashing when I'm ending the recording and then shutting down OBS and the machine as a whole. Technical specs for editing software avalible here: http://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/gb/vegas-movie-studio/specifications/#productMenu

Code:
Import

AAC, AA3, AVI, BMP, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, WMV, AIFF, FLAC, MP3, OGG, PCA, SND,
W64, WAV, WMA, GIF, JPEG, PNG, WDP, CDA, SFA

My last recording OBS crashed right at the end causing the mp4 to become corrupt, if anybody could help try fix it that would be much appreciated. The video is 5.24GB and holds the recording of my entire day of recording. I will edit in the corrupt video once it has been uploaded to my google drive.

Kind Regards
Sam

You can record to MKV and use File / Remux after recording to convert to MP4 with no quality loss.

I have never heard of that format before, what im looking for more is something that i can transfer to my laptop straight away to edit without having to convert. I doubt my laptop is good enough to run obs itself and i dont have the time after recording on the main PC to do the conversion there and then

Just checked and I do, its about 3 hours long from the day before with the same settings. I'm currently doing a full reinstall on the computer to fix a problem that arose around the web browsers and ntdll.dll. The video is uploading now and i will update with the link in an hour or two

You are using legacy application. New one is named OBS Studio: https://obsproject.com/download

Only part of the data (~41%) were recovered and sent to the issuer (private conversation).

Edit: ~99% of data were recovered and sent to the issuer (private conversation).
