Bug Report Local recording file audio/video de-sync

Hello everyone,

Recently switch from using xsplit (well, for some things at least). Loving almost everything, but I generally do local recordings as well to cut out commercial breaks and pauses in between matches to upload those later to Youtube channel. While I've got this working from xsplit, I tested it out today on OBS and while I got it recorded as a .mp4 and am able to open it with Premiere without a problem, there's for some reason some rather major audio/video desync going on.

I searched the forums and while some related posts to it, I wasn't able to find anything that dealt with this issue specifically. So, I'm mostly wondering if it's just me that's having this type of problem, or if anyone else has also experienced the same issue as this, and whether or not this is a known issue.

Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

Wow, you got it to open in vegas? I'm surprised that even worked for you. Most people tell me that vegas doesn't work with my mp4 files. Does this sync issue happen only in vegas?

Wha?

No, not Vegas at all. Adobe Premiere CS6. Interestingly I've found that it's only desynced after importing, but if I just try to play the file it plays without any desync issue. I'm guessing that's probably something to do with Premiere import settings itself, though I managed to import xsplit recording in .mp4 format without the same issue occurring.

I got the same thing. Audio is not in sync in Premiere. The raw version I uploaded to Youtube didn't have this issue.

Woops, I meant premiere. Don't know why I said vegas. Is this MP4? I think MP4 may have an issue at the moment, because I had it happen to myself earlier.. I think I have to update my MP4 code. FLV doesn't seem to have the same issue though (which is more understandable)

Yeah, the local recording saves in MP4 format. Interestingly enough, from xsplit if you save in .flv Premiere doesn't like it because of the compression used or something of that sort (forgot what the error is said when I tried to import it), but the .mp4 format from xsplit local recording imported without a problem into Premiere. I was thus happy when I saw that OBS also saved in the same way, but sadly the file does not seem to be liked in terms of sync.

And yeah, I think as of CS6 Premiere can import .mp4s, may not have been able to do it in earlier versions.

I managed to open a .mp4 local recording in Vegas 11, but only show video, no audio, so i converted the video in mp3 and whoala, nice and easy :D

Yeah that's what I saw as well when I imported the clip into Vegas 10, but that isn't really my problem. Premiere handles the files just fine. However, the inherent de-sync in the original file is the problem. Anyone have a solution?

I'm having the same issue, massive de-sync and frozen frames.

UPDATE: I was having issues in my test, but the solution came from nowhere. I realized that the recording worked after 20-25 seconds into the recording. So for me to be sure that the recording was successful I'd have to keep that "warm up" time in mind and not do anything I need recorded in that upstart period. My audio sync issue went away and the freeze frames stopped after 20-25 secs into the recording.

UPDATE: After putting the video file into VEGAS, the video started operating correctly after "17.29" seconds... my guesstimation was a little off.
