I'm using the settings from this guide for recording gameplay in high quality. On my old gaming laptop, they ran beautifully and was able to record games without any significant problems, even when live streaming caused at least a 20 FPS drop.

I now have a new gaming desktop and for whatever reason will experience HUGE FPS drops. Going from 70-150 at max settings to 20 sometimes with medium quality and no shadows.

You could simply switch the preset to superfast or ultrafast. 1080p60 is very demanding and I remember more people on AMD systems having problems with such recordings. Did you also do 1080p60 recording on your older laptop? If so, what hardware did it have?

I'm not sure if I did 1080p60 on my laptop, I don't believe so, I'm thinking it was more likely 25 FPS. I'll have to dig my laptop out and check out the specs on it. I'll try out super or ultra fast and see how that goes =/

Hopefully I get an i7 soon and don't have to deal with AMD shenanigans lol. Thanks for the help.

There's other options.

1: Lower the FPS to 30.
2: Overclock the CPU.

I didn't have much problems at all livestreaming/recording at 1080p@60fps with my 8350 @ 4.8GHz.
However, I wouldn't recommend livestreaming at such fps and resolution though.

Livestreaming i'm 100% okay almost (although live I use 720p30), lowering FPS is my next solution although I'd like to keep the quality awesome. I didn't get a chance to try it out tonight, long day tomorrow so this weekend I'll go for it I guess. Thanks again.
