hello there,

so I stream on twitch with this obs settings:

2500bitrate / 720p@30fps / lanczos filter / cpu preset: fast

my problem is, the stream looks much better then my local recorded ones, Im new to local recording but I would like to have the same quality like my stream but its not sharp, has some more pixels and looks more blurry compared to my live stream broadcasts.

Im new to local recording at the same time while streaming, so I use the feature in obs "automatically save stream to file" which seems an .flv format. Can someone tell me how to get the same quality for local recorded files like my live stream one?

Hardware is: i7 4790k 4,4ghz / 16gig ram, gtx 980 ect.

thanks in advance

Local recording literally saves the same data going out to the livestream to the local disk.

If you mean that the preview window is clearer, that's because the preview is non-encoded (full frame) video, from prior to the encoding step. The preview is just that; it's not indicative of the quality level of what you're actually sending out.

Try turning on 'automatically archive' in your Twitch account settings, and go back to watch the VOD. It's going to be the same quality as what you recorded to disk (though may buffer more, as it's coming from a remote server of course).

if its the same outcome of the quality, is it maybe youtube which mess up the video? Bc im comparing my twitch broadcast and the same recorded video which was uploaded to youtube (video quality 720p) the youtube one looks really bad, sadly after uploading to youtube I removed the file from my disk, so I cant check if youtube is messing up or if my file was really that bad with the quality, have to check it next time.
