Question / Help Live Stream any better on CPU than local?

Basically my computer sucks CPU wise, so I can record in high quality, but I really want something better than 360 as well as being able to record anything without lag, so question. Is live streaming any better than saving locally? If not, can you recommend any other recording software that is better than obs on the CPU?

I don't know how much help I can provide being a user like yourself and I'm sure a dev could help, but I'll try. First of all make sure you don't have other things running that are CPU intensive, those programs will be butting heads with OBS. Streaming won't take the load off of the CPU because the video source is going to be encoded anyway, which will cause an increase in CPU usage. I know for me I changed my settings in Video by clicking Video>Resolution Downscale: 1.50, 30 fps. I also set Advanced>Video to Best Speed or Veryfast preset (I have Quick Sync so my options may be different than yours). For local recording or streaming you could also try lowering your bitrate even more if you can or if you don't have the upload speed for streaming. Also, I keep my audio bitrate at 128 or lower.

As I said, I don't know how much help I can provide, but I hope some of that can help. Good luck and I hope everything works out!
