Listen to audio being recorded

When I monitor a recording through headphones I cannot hear the special effects being used, like VST2x-RealJS Pitch/Octaveup.
When I listen to what has been recorded I can hear those effects.
How do I tap into the recording audio stream so that I hear all that is being recorded during the recording process, including the octaveup effect?.

Having researched this further, I find that it is not possible to listen to the sound after the filters are applied within OBS. I can only create a test recording and listen to the effect in the recording. This means that adjustments to the filter and test recording needs to be repeated until the required effect is achieved.

You can monitor the output of OBS in near real time (2-3 frame delay) using NDI plug in and NDI tools
Download and install. Restart computer in OBS go to the tool menu, select NDI output settings, check mark the box Main Output , give it a name that you will remember. This will give you a NDI video and audio output.
Download and install NDI tools to your computer

go to where your NDI tools were installed and select Studio Monitor. Hover over the monitor select the pancake icon will it will show available inputs for video and audio from OBS. Select the output from OBS and tell it where you want the audio to go. Now you will need to turn off all monitoring in OBS or you will have echoes. And the studio monitor could be minimized.
