Lenovo FHD Webcam Doesn't Stay Active

I use a Lenovo FHD Webcam to capture piano keyboard. I plug it into my windows machine with a USB 2.0 cable. OBS recognizes it as a device that can be added. I do that, and I can use it ONCE, sometimes. Other times, before it will activate successfully, I have to shut down OBS, and others have to reboot. At that point, when I activate the camera, it works.

If I exit OBS and come back in with the camera connected the same way, it won't activate, but I can work around it by creating a new video capture device using the same Lenovo FHD Webcam, and it will work - again just once.

Any thoughts on how I can fix this?

If your camera defaults to a high resolution or format that’s demanding, it may succeed once but fail afterward when resources are cached or the driver enters a bad state.

Hmmm. I'll try another webcam, not HD, later today and see how that works. I'm not sure, but there may be a way in the "Manage Camera" System Settings to force a lower resolution on the FHD. Such fun. Thanks.

arcisodbe - You nailed the problem. I swapped out the camera for an older 720p webcam, and OBS can handle it without issue. Thanks for your help!
