Do not use monitor capture mode; you need to use a Window Capture scene for the laucher, and a Game Capture scene for the main game. There's an auto-switcher plugin available here on the forums.

If you aren't using monitor capture currently, please post a logfile from a live streaming session (located in %appdata%/OBS/logs) and provide a link to the VOD of the cast if possible/available.

As FerretBomb said, the best way to stream LoL is to set up 2 scenes. In the first scene, have a Window Capture of the LoL client, and in the second scene, have a Game Capture of the actual LoL game. Then use the Simple Scene Switcher to automatically swap between them: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1785

Would window capturing a borderless windowed LoL game client be fine as well? My game capture doesnt work and I don't really care about monitoring capturing when I'm not in game

Yes, and it is in fact the preferred method of capturing if you are able to play your game in borderless windowed mode. It is an extremely fast, very low impact method of capture with a high percentage of reliability. If you use Window Capture make sure to enable Aero for best performance!
