Question / Help Large MP4 local recording is corrupted. How to fix?

The largest file (over 6GB) from a recent recording session won't open. Attempting to open it in MPC causes Windows to lock-up altogether. A number of other, smaller files from the same session (with the same recording settings) open with no issues. Uploading the damaged file to http://mp4repair.org/ and using their preview function shows a promising, fixed sample, but they charge $300 to fix the whole file. I haven't made any other headway with various freeware tools I've tried so far, though. Any pointers?

No help now, but record to FLV in future to avoid this.
