Hello,

I'm using my laptop running a Intel-Core-i5-4200H processor to stream video from my gaming pc using the elgato hd 60 capture. The issue is I cannot seem to maintain 60fps on obs using the below settings, I just want to know whether it should be achievable given my hardware so I can look into tweaking my settings.

1280x720

60fps

3000kbs

Use cbr

very fast cpu preset

Note: When streaming I don't actually have any dropped frames and it spikes from 10-60fps but averages around 30-35.

Edit: I have tried using quality balance of 5 instead of using cbr which helped slightly but became really laggy on twitch.

Quality balance doesn't do anything in CBR mode. Generally sending 60fps to Twitch is a bad idea anyways due to bitrate limitations... try sending 30fps to Twitch and only use 60fps for recording to your hard drive. This will help with your CPU usage at the same time.

Post an OBS log file from a five minute or longer encode using whatever settings you decide are best. Not familiar with that CPU but its probably one of the stripped down laptop CPUs so you won't get the performance of a typical i5.
