Question / Help Lags during stream, no lags after watching the recording?

Hello guys,

my problem is the following:
When I stream League of Legends in 1080p everybody who is wachting it says that it is lagging in teamfights. But after streaming I watch the videos and there are no lags.
Bandwith:
49000kbit/s download
9100kbit/s upload
Can anybody help to fix this issue? Here my log file with 1080p setting:

Also tried different settings:
- changed Max Bitrate between 4000kbit/s and 8500kbit/s
- different quality values
- different fps

Always the same result.

Re: Lags during stream, no lags after watching the recording

Have you tried a lower bitrate, like 2000? Dont think twitch can handle the amount you have right now.

Re: Lags during stream, no lags after watching the recording

Yeah that's an insanely high bit rate. With VBR, I'm sure your bandwidth usage is spiking everywhere, making it hard to watch. It's smooth after the fact because it's not trying to play back in real time...you can buffer a lot more before you play.

Twitch considers it an abuse of their system to stream a such high bit rates. I wouldn't dare going over 4k lest I risk getting shut down. Plus, most viewers can't really watch that high of a bit rate.

I recommend lowering your bit rate to 3500, and consider enabling CBR (using the latest test version of OBS).

Ok thanks for the replies. I will try it and give you feedback :)

Re: Lags during stream, no lags after watching the recording

Hello guys,

I want to thank you very much. Your advices were perfect. I changed the upload to 3500kbit/s and there are no lags anymore while streaming :)
