Question / Help Laggy Recording

Okay so every time i try to record my gameplay the recording is always super laggy but when i stream its perfectly fine. I have tried switching from nvenc and x264 and messed around with the settings quite a bit but nothing i try works. it does the same thing in obs and streamlabs. i will list my specs down below, my pc is not a high-end build but its also not low-end so i should be able to record. any kind of help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Specs:
Motherboard: Rox Strix B-450f
CPU: Ryzen 7 2700x
GPU: GTX 1660ti
RAM: 32 gb corsair vengeance (not sure which one but i paid like $80 each)

Literally right as i was about to post this i tried it again and it wasnt laggy, but if someone could still help me out with finding the best settings i could use that would be great. i have my current recording setting attached.

you can see that ive been messing around with a bunch of different settings.

You're not dropping very many frames, only about 1/2 a second worth in total.

Since you're recording on one pc, launch OBS in admin mode as that will allow for better system resource allocation to OBS. You should be able to stream and record at 720p60fps using NVENC with no issues.

Try using these settings:
- Output
Encoder: NVENC H.264 (new)
Bitrate: 10000 Kbps
Preset: Quality
Profile: High

- Video
Output Resolution: 1280x720
FPS: 60

I have a worse pc than you (2600x, 16gb ram, gtx 970) and I'm able to record at a slightly lower preset with no issues. so this should work for you. (If it works you might even be able to record at 1600x900 which looks almost exactly like 1080p)

Still isnt working. Ive literally tried everything and nothing is working. Im sure its something stupid that im forgetting.

If you've made changes you should post logs (that include output sessions) from those sessions.

I havent changed any settings. also idk if it makes a difference but im using 1 pc and 2 monitors. from what i know, correct me if im wrong, my pc should be more than capable for this. Im literally so stuck idk what im doing wrong.

Post #2 suggested completely different settings for recording than the ones in your log.

So you're saying you didn't try them, but are still having an issue? Or that you did, because if so, it would be useful to see that logfile.

I'd suggest turning on simple output mode, indistinguishable quality, large file size, then.
