Question / Help Lag when recording

Hey all, everytime I record or stream my fps in game drops to about 30-50 and that's basically unplayable when i usually average about 200 when i dont have obs open. I have a gtx 1060 3gb, 16gb ddr4, an i5-8400. Any reason why I would be lagging?

Please post a log with your issue! Here's how...

OBS uses GPU resources. It's not unusual to need to cap in-game framerates in order for OBS to perform acceptably, and it's usually the case that apps will run at a lower framerate when OBS is also running.

Need a log with a streaming or recording session in it. Even if having OBS open without streaming or recording impacts the computer's performance, OBS does not write information to the log about framerate until recording or streaming is started, and then stopped.
