My OBS recording seems to lag when I record a video on YouTube or when I am playing a game. I also want to record at 1080 60fps or lower, just in case. What could be the problem that causes lag? Is it something to do with the settings of my obs, the bitrates, the speed of my internet or the system requirements such as the graphic card and the processor? For some reason, I have been told it doesn't matter what CPU i have but it depends on the capacity or it could be the cpu i use and what graphic card is best to use rather than intel hd graphics or x264. PLEASE, REPLY IMMIDIATELY!
These are my system requirements:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3330 CPU @ 3.00GHz 3.00 GHz
Installed RAM: 8.00 GB (7.69 GB usable)
GPU: Intel HD Graphics
Motherboard baseboard manufacture: asustek computer inc
baseboard product: P8Z77-V LX
baseboard version: rev x.0x
I dont know my storage or my fan.

the quality of my obs recording is bad, like for example, it is a bit grainy or pixelated or its something else but i dont know what it is called. For example, its good quality but the quality is not clear enough. What could be the issue? PLEASE REPLY AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE!

Could you provide a log file of an OBS session that leads to a bad recording?

Also, please keep in mind that this community is entirely volunteer based. A lot of people spend free time to help others... and every user posting an issue desires a swift reply. So please try to be a little patient ;)

What you want, and what your system is capable of may be (most likely are) in conflict
real-time video encoding is VERY computationally demanding. Which CPU you have ABSOLUTELY can make a difference, as can a GPU that enables encoding offload (from the CPU)

I recommend monitoring hardware resource (CPU, GPU, RAM, etc) utilization [for ex. using Task manager’s Performance tab and/or Resource Monitor] to see if your system is being maxed out with your settings [and I'm sure it is]. Search these forums for posts on OBS configurations for under-powered systems

Sorry if i am a little bit impatient, I just miss uploading videos and I am so desperate, I will take your feedback and give it a go and see how it goes. :)

I will look at OBS configurations on OBS Forums and use task manager but could you give me any types of cpu, gpu and ram that I need for instance?

Kris,

please don't confuse the people with alternate postings in more than one thread to the same issue. A general hint of what cpu type and what gpu may help you was given in https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/cpu-and-gpu-requirements-probably-ram.145248/post-531641

We try to help you out, but your problems with OBS and your computer are on a general basis. You should try to slowly involve yourself to the OBS stuff. Be not impatient like the topic here in this thread assumes. Keep on going slowly.

First figure out what you want to do with OBS and how to describe it in words. Then people will help you out sorting if this or that may work for you.
