Dear OBS support,
I recently started to live stream via OBS (with my Elgato Game Capture HD), however I seem to have some troubles in getting a smoothly running stream…
The issue is that the stream starts to lag sometimes, then it’s running kinda smooth again. There’s also a problem that the stream brings some black screen for 1-2 seconds sometimes, then the stream is back again. This also happens more or less randomly and I have tried so many things, yet I couldn’t solve it…
Here’s an example, as you can notice it in the archived file:
http://www.twitch.tv/goldcobra90/b/580720832
01:36 for lag example
28:26 mega lag
57:00 for the black screen I mentioned.
Here are my specs:

I’ve also changed the servers to Frankfurt, Amsterdam and London, but that didn’t help.
Video Capture Device settings:
I have no idea why I always get those lags and „blackouts“. My hardware, software and internet connection should be more than enough. Lowering the bitrate to 1800 didn’t help as much as I thought. OBS itself shows that no Frames were dropped (0.00%) and the green square stays green all the time. On twitch.tv my stream configuration stays on „Excellent“ all the time as well.
The issues I mentioned above happen when I’m connected to my network, watching via Wireless LAN and my MacBook Pro (2013 series) and it also appears to happen on my iPhone 6 via 3G/LTE or Wireless LAN. It doesn’t even matter.
A friend of mine did many tests with me and told me that exactly the same things happen to him as well when he is watching my stream.
Does anyone of you have any kind of idea what I can try next in order to solve this issue please? Those lags/blackout occur when I’m streaming via the Elgato software as well.
Logfile attached!
Thanks in advance! :)
