I Can't seem to find a broadcasting program that does not randomly crash. I switched to OBS hoping that would be my solution. Unfortunately i have random crashes. I am despretely seeking any help or info explaining the crash or telling me what I could do on my end to alleviate crashes. I need a stable reliable program to stream and am out of options. Please help with info or solutions. I have included the bug report as requested. I tried to upload the dump file as stated but your system attachment limitations (500kb) will not allow me to upload the dmp (900kb) Thanks in advance.

Only thread I could find with similar crash is http://obsproject.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=8640 but it did not appear solved. Mentioned that it was a text file source. I do have my text file sources on a seperate computer and am directing obs to see it through homegroup network. Don't know if local hard drive would/could solve problem. Also realized I could zip the dmp file. Hope i did it correctly. I atteached to this post.

What sources do you have in your scene? That particular crash dump was unfortunately a bit inconclusive.

I have an Avermedia Live Gamer HD Video Capture Source, Logitch c920 Camera Source, A .gif image overlay. a .jpeg webcam overlay. I have 3 text sources that are just static words. I also have 3 txt files that remote update using nightdev's autodj and donation tracker exe programs that update .txt files. I did not crash today (does not mean that I won't) I did change the programs and txt for the updating files on to the c drive of the comp.

Did have something else strange today though. I now have it to where nt kernel system process uses anywhere from 5-10% of cpu resource now when I either preview or stream. I had this issue on another computer and thought it was windows 7 driver issues. Im using 8.1 with updated drivers. I tested all weekend without this issue (although I had crashing). The only thing I have changed is the location of the .txt and the exe of the programs that update remote text. It is just weird how it only happens when running obs. (tested with another streaming program and happens as well). I just find it so ?? that i went days of that not happening and now it is. I even deleted the remote txt sources and did not run the nightdev exe's and its still there. I know you cant speak for how other software works but is there anything known about what could cause obs to use system kernel nt when the stream is live?

System CPU usage is caused by drivers, likely your Avermedia is causing it.

Where were the txt files before you moved them to C:?

Yeah I thought It was a driver issue. Weird thing is worked for weeks without system cpu and today it popped up. And txt files were on gaming pc through network (workgroup file sharing). It was the only idea I found on the forum about my type of crash. Probably need to run a couple days to see if crashes again.

Deleted avermedia source and uninstalled drivers and disabled device and system process is still there. I know "its only 10%" but 1) I dont have the spare resources and 2) it was not doing so before even though I have updated no drivers. Just a weird problem and issue is all.

Finished with no errors. I cant speak to the crashing but as far as kernel usage i have found a few processes causing the usage. 1 fixed one which was a usb driver. (updated driver) 1 is of course avermedia h264 codec. Cant seem to fix. I am investigating the others to see what is going on. I have pulled the cpu usage of system while obs is running from 10% to 5%. At least im gtting there. Still have no clue how it never showed up till today and all of a sudden it happens everytime i preview/stream.

Ok guys i think we can put this under the solved category. Here is what I believe the case was

Random crashing- System interrupts caused by having remote txt files on secondary computer.

CPU System Process- It was my webcam. I had to take it out of native (1080p) and put it on 720p and use either the I420 or MJPG format.

One new thing now. So sorry. I don't know if this was due to update bug on my end or what?

Played Assassin's Creed IV today and during cutscenes there was no voice audio. I heard it in gaming pc. The rest of the audio was being picked up by streaming pc. Voices at other times could be heard. Music and other sounds could be heard in cutscenes, just no voice. Thought i'd inquire in case you have knowledge before I spend more time trying to fix it. Thank you so much for your help.

So the voices missing has to do with the main computer being in 7.1 surround. I use stereo mix to send audio through hdmi cable to capture card. If I click stereo (instead) it works fine. Audio is so frustrating. I will research more. Sorry to bother you with that problem. It is on my end. As for the original reason for this thread, you can mark it as solved.

You're no bother, we'll have better support for 7.1 a bit later on.
