log of stream: https://obsproject.com/logs/cFnp0bUFBY1B0Bb7

today I streamed and as happens to me every so often my kb/s just dropped to 0. It went on for what I guess was 10-15 minutes and then wen't back up to my usual bitrate.

I chose the default server for twitch on OBS, so I'm not sure if the problem is with connection to the server, since won't OBS just switch in that case? or is that not how the default option works?

I doubt the problem is with my internet as I can keep playing/getting music and everything else just fine.

I also read the pinned thread and did my best to understand it.

thanks!

Run TwitchTest.

There's no real connection between your ability to stream and your ability to do other things. If your connection failed entirely then yes, you would be unable to do anything, but it is absolutely possible for your ISP to have a problem that either prevents you from streaming or provides bad quality, while still allowing other services to work as normal.

What that would mean is that most likely the problem is not on your side, but with your ISP. Most connectivity problems you would have on your side (your computer, cabling, and routing) would affect most services equally.

thank you for the answer! I will try to go for a specific server rather than just choosing default.
hopefully that does it, because the alternatives sounds real complicated ^^"

Update: It is not the server.

As OBS plummeted to 0 kb/s again today I ran the twitch server test, and it couldn't reach any of the servers for a little while, I then retook it later to show that it wasn't a permanent issue connecting to those servers. screenshots here: https://imgur.com/a/0GtMhzE

So, given the server itself isn't the problem, are the any other options then it being my ISP?
I can't really switch ISPs in my situation and keep streaming, so if there's anything else I could try I would like that

If TwitchTest ever can't reach a server, but your internet connection otherwise seems to be functioning perfectly well, it is most likely your ISP and you should address a complaint to them.

If during these periods your Internet connection fails to function at all, it might be your ISP, or a fault in your local network (bad cable, failing network card, failing/misconfigured router.
