Question / Help Just can't seem to get the right quality / performance.

FYI: BenQ xl2420T 120hz monitor using 2d Lightboost (thats why its a bit bright)

With these OBS settings, my CPU peaks at about 80-90%. My frames are fine, I play competitive CSGO so I would like to have the best ingame FPS as I possibly can. I mostly just want to be able to stream in 720 @ something higher than 30fps. Stream tends to not turn out as good in the framerate department as it should. I've seen people with 50-60 fps streams and mine doesn't even compare.

Just updating OBS, improvement is leaps and bounds - I totally derped that.

The only thing analyze said was Aero didn't need to be disabled.


So you guys think 3000 bitrate for 720 @ 60fps is fine (veryfast, Quality 10)? VOD and log below.
I might just be overanalyzing it but I'm pretty sure the stream framerate dipped below 45fps in this VOD.
Also my CPU is hovering at about 95% load.

First of all, stick with CBR instead of VBR if the purpose is streaming. CBR ensures a more stable throughput of data for all concerned parties (you, the streaming service and the viewers) and consequently a more stable and enjoyable stream.

Secondly, depending on the game you can get away with dropping the FPS down to 48 at 720p. Will look mostly the same framerate wise but does free up more CPU and GPU time and will actually improve the overall fidelity of the stream.

Last but not least, run an upload test at http://www.testmy.net/upload (making sure to pick a server near the one you've been streaming to) to ensure you can maintain 3000 Kbps.
