Question / Help Just cant get OBS to work anymore

I don't get it. About 6 months ago OBS worked just fine. I was able to live stream, record, add windows capture, display capture, anything a streamer could do with OBS with few issues. Now I can't figure out why OBS refuses to let anything work on this new PC. I can't get games to show up, I can't get the display or a window to show. The only thing that seems to work is the webcam.

Can someone please tell me why am I having so much trouble with OBS? And its the same issues with Streamlabs OBS. I know its a separate app but its the same issue. What am I doing wrong? Or does this PC somehow hate OBS?

I'm a bit different. I use an AMD laptop to record my PS4. A few days ago I wasn't having any issues but now all of a sudden anytime I try to record anything I get an encoding overload, and no matter how much I change my settings the issue still presents itself.

I have to assume OBS broke again because of a Windows 10 update, because my settings have always worked before and now all of a sudden I get these problems?

I don't know how to fix this, and I don't want to have to uninstall and reinstall OBS on the slim chance that that might fix the issue.

Edit: You seem to be having it way worse than me, though.

I have no idea what the issue could be. I never had these problems before and I am not seeing anyone complain about them so I can only assume I am doing something wrong but its just odd because I know what I'm doing. Its not like I just started learning how to use OBS. Yet for some reason, I'm at a complete loss here.

I dunno man, I've been using OBS for months now as well and I know my settings work perfectly for recording my PS4.

But then, just a few days ago I started getting encoding overloads. I'm at a loss as to what's going on, its not like I'm overworking my laptop's CPU so my best guess is that a Windows 10 update broke OBS so it can't interface properly with Win10? But that's a guess, I don't actually know that much about computers.

This is my post by the way:

I have no idea what's wrong. Which keads me to assume that Windiws 10 is the problem, but I can't say with certainty that its Win10...

@BraveStarr Display capture is currently disabled by your computer.
Chrome needs hardware acceleration disabled in order to be able to window capture it.
