Question / Help I've downloaded runtime components that I need, but I still can't install OBS on Windows 8

I attempted to download the latest version of OBS (64-bit), and received an error message in the installation wizard saying I needed to install additional runtime components, so I followed the link to the OBS site and downloaded and installed the extra components, but OBS still returns the same message when I try to reinstall it. Does anyone know what's going on or how I could fix it? I've tried downloading the 32-bit version and that doesn't work either.

Try also running Windows Update. Here are other solutions that have helped people in the past:

• Visual Studio 2015 runtimes may be required by certain plugins. Download and install both vcredist_x86.exe and vcredist_x64.exe from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145
• Missing DirectX components? Download the DirectX Web Installer from http://obsproject.com/go/dxwebsetup
