Question / Help iTunes audio not being captured

Hello,

I am having trouble capturing audio from iTunes. All other audio (including things like youtube) play back through the same audio device as iTunes, however it still isnt getting picked up by obs. any ideas?

Windows vista and up implemented a special audio system that prevents you from being able to record audio from some apps for the purposes of digital rights management. I'm willing to bet that it is purposely blocking you from being able to record the content from iTunes, but I couldn't say for sure. That's just an educated guess

Winamp doesnt work either...

foobar2000 is good for streaming because of it's lightweight. There's also a plugin which can output now playing song to a txt file, so your viewers can see what song are you listening to (Now Playing Simple). I can help you configuring it if you'd have a problem with it :)

Guys,no media player is working.. I have my sound card set as my default playback device and OBS set to pickup my default device. music from youtube works and games but all the media players i have used dont work.

Do you have two different audio outputs?

Yes motherboard output and a separate sound card. The sound card has been default for all my programs (as well as windows default) for a while now.

ah, okay, I'm going to add an option to fix that in the future an allow multiple sound inputs/outputs

But where does OBS record sound from at the moment? if it is the default player I shouldn't be experiencing a problem as my motherboard sound output isn't being used at all. and it picks up all other sounds.

But multiple input/outputs will be useful in the future!

Ok ive sorted the problem, I had to explicitly set winamp to the sound drivers instead of have them use windows default.

After using winamp itunes and foobar2000, i still prefer itunes.
