It keeps freezing

Every time I record footage, a pop up comes up saying 'encoding overload' - and the footage starts lagging, both while recording and while playing it back.
I don't know how to change the settings in order to stop this from happening.
Asked like 4 times now, could do with some help!

You ask the question for the fourth time, but in the previous post I asked you to send a log file, you ignored it. How do you think users can diagnose your problem?

The easiest thing you can do is to study this guides:
https://obsproject.com/wiki/GPU-overload-issues
Um, if I knew how to send a log file I would.
All I'm asking for are simple settings.
The pop up says "consider turning down the video settings or using a faster encoder"
I want to know how to turn down the settings or what an encoder is. A simple question.

That doesn't answer my question.
Until I get an answer I'll end up posting the same thing on repeat.

Otherwise, hardly anyone can help you. No one will be able to diagnose your problem until they examine the OBS log file. It can be anything! One can only guess. This is the same as you come to the doctor, but refuse to be examined and provide tests.

What is a log file?
How do I upload it?
You're not exactly telling me what I need to do.
