Question / Help Issues with OBS and Windows Taskbar

Hello,

I just recently switched to OBS for my game streaming and am very pleased except for one detail; when I stream I use a program that hides the Windows Taskbar so that I can play "full-screen" while still reaming in windowed mode. This worked fine when I was using Xsplit, the screen region capturing showed the entire full game screen screen for viewers, but it seems OBS does not. Instead of a removed taskbar there seems to be just a black strip of the same size at the bottom of the scene. Effectively this crops a small but important region of the screen, more specifically the bottom part where the taskbar "should" be.

So, what I want is for the entire game screen region to be shown, without this annoying cropping (presumably) caused by the taskbar.

Any help is much appreciated.

Game capture seems to just give me a black screen and I have prior experience streaming in non-window mode which always resulted in annoying flickering for the viewers. That and windowed mode in general is just more convenient.

Most titles support exactly what you want in the form of a Borderless Window, sometimes also called Windowed (Fullscreen). Which titles are we talking about here?

And the black screen Game Capture can be fixed. Could you show us a recent log of a session that didn't work out well? They're in %AppData%\OBS\logs

If you have a laptop, or a desktop computer with 2 graphics cards (including integrated graphics), read this for help with Game Capture black screens: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=5965

What game are you trying to capture? Also, is Aero enabled?

Typically Aero should only be disabled if you're using Monitor Capture. If you're not, don't bother with disabling it.

What program are you using to hide the taskbar? And can we see a video of the issue?
