Hello everyone! Having some issues that I'm hoping someone will be able to help me out with..

OBS seems to be having issues with FH3. It doesn't matter if I'm streaming or recording. My in game performance is just fine, but the frame rate in OBS drops down to nearly single digits at times.

If anyone could help me out, I would really appreciate it!!

This is a video directly from my test stream tonight:

I would also like to add that I'm using Monitor capture since OBS can't capture UWP games right now...

Forza Horizon 3 is very demanding especially on the GPU and with Windows 10 it's putting very little GPU usage on OBS Studio. That said, the download_frames on the log isn't severe on the first log and the lagged frames didn't even go 1% in the second log so I can't pinpoint this. Maybe someone here will find something else out.

I'm running the game on dynamic high, but I'm going to start to run it it on dynamic medium. I know my cpu and ram are just fine, but it looks like my gtx 970 is being pushed haha

See the thing is you have to get a log when there is a problem, the log posted is fine, how am I supposed to tell anything if you aren't getting the problem? lol.

Either way I'm fairly sure its because you can't use game capture.

Also you don't have to set your buffer size to 0 to use crf anymore. You can just select crf in the rate control.

which is exactly why I hate to even make a post about this sort of issue! soo hard to nail down when it's so random haha

Well next time you get this issue if you could post that log I'll take a look at it.
you got it! but as of right now, the issue seems to have fixed itself. right after I posted this issue on here, the problem seems to have legitimately vanished. just recorded for nearly 2 hours straight and no fps drops in OBS to speak of. I don't know what happened, but I am glad it fixed! haha
