Bug Report Issue with sound/headset?

So here's what happens:

When I don't stream I never get this issue, but when I stream my headset randomly gets this insanely loud noise the just comes out of nowhere and scares the crap out of me, but doesn't go away until I unplug my headset then plug it back in. Then I'll try streaming again and bam a few moments later I'm again jumping in my chair because of it, lol. I've tried using the different codec ( AAC/MP3 ) same issue. I just want to stream. It forces me to close my programs and re-open them to get the sound back.

Again, this does not happen when I am not streaming, ever.

Are you watching your own stream making the sound looop forever until it gets really loud? Like does it happen as soon as you start to stream or it happens randomly an hour later or something. If you could post a log file so we can see what kind of devices you are working with would help too. Make sure you are using the new version .50b that just came out as well.

No, I am not watching my own stream. Sometimes it happens as soon as I start the stream ( if I'm in game. ), but when I'm not, it doesn't do it unless I'm watching a youtube video or something. I am using the new version.

Why did I know that it was a USB headset. "Warning -- MMDeviceAudioSource::GetBuffer: GetNextPacketSize failed, result = 88890004" never seen that before in a log file. Other than trying different USB ports and making sure it is your default windows sound device I am not really sure what to do. Hope someone else can chime in with any knowledge bombs.

Thanks. I have tried different usb ports and made sure it is the default device! Appreciate the responses though.

That error means that the device (your USB headset) got disconnected. It shouldn't normally happen, OBS may trigger it but it isn't the root cause (a bug in the drivers/the device actually malfunctioning/etc).
See if there are any updates to your headset drivers.

Some people with USB headphones seem to have this issue occur and I just don't know what causes it. It almost always happens in combination with a webcam, though I don't remember if there are any specific fixes anyone has found or not, my best guess is that something weird is going on with the USB ports on the motherboard but without having the computer with the problem directly in front of me I couldn't say for sure
