Issue with missing audio track in MP4 file with beta hybrid codec

The issue I’m encountering concerns the complete absence of the audio track in an MP4 file generated with the new beta hybrid codec in OBS. It is absolutely unacceptable that a codec still in beta is set as the default in the latest update, and I would like to understand how it is possible to recover the lost audio track. I kindly request

Open the video in VLC, click the audio menu at the top and check the audio tracks menu. Do you see the audio tracks there? Hybrid MP4 has been in OBS for a while now there have been no reports of this so I think it is a playback issue on your end.

Hi! The file contains an audio track, but it turns out to be silent. I tried converting it with several programs (VLC, OBS, Premiere Pro, FFMPEG), but the track is always silent. It’s really strange because, during the recording in OBS, the audio was coming through correctly and was clearly visible on the audio source meter.

Also, I noticed about a 30-second delay in OBS audio monitoring, although in the recordings prior to the problematic one, the track ended up being in sync with the video.

Hi!
I managed to recover the log files. Below is the link containing the logs and the video files with the audio issue.

The strange thing is that when importing them into Premiere, the audio sometimes appears but then quickly fades out (see the file “2025-10-12 09-05-45.mp4” at 00:22:25).
I really hope the issue can be identified and that there’s a way to recover the audio.
Thank you for your time and support.

You have set OBS to record your "Default" device which is based on the default device in Windows. It looks like something is causing your default device in Windows to change, resulting in it also changing in OBS. Definitely some issue outside of OBS to look into but the easy fix is to just set your actual device as the device you are recording instead of leaving it as "Default".
