Question / Help Issue with mic and audio: no sound

I can not get any sound to work at all. I have set my desired mic and play back device to default and chose default in the audio settings of OBS. That did not work so i tried selecting them manually as well as trying combinations any other playback device, to see if that would fix the issue but to no avail. The mic and audio show up when previewing stream and when recording, however after checking no sound is picked up. When audio is playing through my headset while recording or streaming both the audio and mic green bar move in synchronization , however when i stop the audio the mic bar continues to move at a lower level. I have a plantronics rig wired gaming headset. My headset came with a audio mixer and i have made sure the mic ins't muted as well as bypassing the mixer and plugging my headset directly into my laptop but nothing has changed. I have ran my system log but nothing regarding mic or audio came up. Push to talk is not enabled. I tried checking the force auxiliary to mono box and nothing happened. I have also went to my headset properties and toggled the exclusivity box.
My system information copied from my pc info :
Windows 8.1
Processor : Intel(R) Core (TM) i5-3337U CPU @ 1.800GHz 1.80 GHz
System type: 64-bit OS, x-64-based processor

This is the link to the latest log file, I haven't experienced any crashes or errors

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Did you setup a hotkey? if so that will have to be pressed in order for OBS to pick up sound

no, i testing all the possible playback devices too.
I'm really not sure on this one. I think there is a new tab in this OBS that does audio threshhold (its a tab at the bottom of settings), I haven't played with it yet, but ensure that it works maybe? not at home to test.
