I've been live streaming BMX races for my local track and I've been having a hard time finding a reasonable set of configuration for my setup.
Hardware:
Recording to disk: 1080p30
I completely realize streaming over a hotspot isn't great, and I'm okay with dropping frames or moving to a lower resolution as long as the recording comes through at 1080p30 that I can later upload from home.
Past races have been okay, dropped frames here and there on the live stream, but my latest was a completely failure. To make matter worse, almost all of the disk recording was garbage too. I'm not sure what happened, or how I can tweak my settings so in the future if the streaming doesn't work well, at least the recording comes through.
Log file is attached.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have another, newer laptop that I'm going to try next time, a Lenovo T15, with 16 GB RAM and an i5-1145G7 processor.
Hardware:
- Microsoft Surface Book with 8GB RAM, i5-6300 CPU
- 2 action cameras running in webcam mode connected over USB to cover the whole track.
- Google Pixel XL running as Hot Spot
