Question / Help Issue regarding screen recording

I'm not able to screen record my screen. The tutorials seem to click on the + sign on sources and starts screen recording by selecting the "display
capture", but when I select display capture the desktop's screen isn't visible . All I see is a black screen. Can someone please help.

Going to guess you're on a laptop, since no logfile or other information was provided.
