Glad the VPN helped you too.

Let's all hope Cincy Bell fixes this issue on their end so we don't need a VPN.

Preview is just OBS capturing your game or window/monitor source. It is not actually sending the stream to Twitch. You aren't sending any data over the internet when you preview.

As for why the European servers work better than US, or why the VPN thing works.

It seems to be some issue with packet loss, or horribly slow speeds when connecting to the US Twitch servers.

It looks like the route the traffic takes when going to the US servers is different than the route it takes to get to the European servers.

Whatever the problem it is something only Cincy Bell is going to be able to fix correctly. We only have some band aids we can use to get around it.

Having exact problem from Cincy. Can I ask: If it's a CintiBell probkem why can I run a preview in OBS with no problems? And if it were the isp's problem why do uk/European servers sort of work?

The only thing that seems to be affected is my stream. All other things work fine for me. So somewhere between me and Twitch something is screwed up. Going to try VPN today and see how that goes.

Seems like Cincy Bell might have done something to fix it. Everything except west coast Twitch servers are 10K+ on the twitch test for me.

Sweet I will test it tonight. I was streaming through Paris servers with minimal packet loss. Streamed almost 4 hrs and lost only 0.1% frames.

Yep just did my test and servers are back and better than before. Getting 10 k on Eastern servers and 5 k + on Western servers.

Very helpful thread belboz, Without a doubt, PureVPN is an old rival in the VPN market, but according to statistics and reviews, PureVPN's reputation is not that good, for example, this PureVPN review tells another side of PureVPN.

I posted my own thread about issues concerning the US West Twitch servers yesterday, but haven't gotten any feedback on it. I'm not on the ISP that everyone in this thread is talking about, but I am having similar issues on those servers. I haven't tried a VPN yet, but will do tomorrow. But I also work for my ISP and had my network admin check my connection, and he also checked to make sure our data centres could connect to all the US West servers properly, and there were no issues with either. This all leads me to believe that the issue is actually with Twitch. Either some servers in their US West data centres are having issues, or they are quietly shitting on non-partnered streamers.
