Is This Window a Part of Windows, or a Part of OBS?

Hi all

If you click the Configure Video button, you get a small window with 2 tabs:

Configure Video.png

It has really useful settings for the webcam, including Focus even,
which on my webcam, really affects focus..
(and enables setting it to manual, so it won't change all the time like the default)

My question:
Is this window a part of Windows OS,
or a part of OBS's code?

Thank you

This is part of the Microsoft-delivered Webcam drivers. It's part of the Windows OS, it's not code delivered by OBS.
It's actually very old. As far as I remember, these dialogs date back to Windows XP or even older.

I understand.

It doesn't let you save anything you set..

Do you maybe know webcam utilities that do let you save the settings you set?

That's a commonly asked question, unfortunately I cannot help with this, since I only have webcam without custom features like zoom, pan, tilt. I guess if there are such utilities, they are probably custom to the camera. So go to the manufacturer's website and look through any downloads they offer for your cam model.

I found CamooZ:

You'll be surprised that even your simple webcam has parameters that can be set.

Thanks for the link. However, for my webcam the question is: "do I need to set parameters?"
