Is this possible: Start/Stop/Start recording again without making a new file?

Hey everyone, thanks for checking out this post. I appreciate your time whether you can help me or not...and sorry if this post exists elsewhere, I tried searching but maybe I don't know the proper term..

I'm kinda a noob, but I know the basic fundamentals.

I want to make a long video, including clips from others and also me talking etc etc, it's super easy doing it live. I just click through the browser tabs I already set up in the order I want them in and talk through it all as I go, start/stop the videos, and roughly follow along with a script I made to keep with the flow and tie the different tabs together into a storyline. Easy as pie.

But man I really don't want to combine clips later....

Is it possible to set OBS such that I can start recording, play a clip and pause recording while I line up a different clip, then push start recording again and have the new recording added to the end of the original clip?

Right now it makes a separate file every time I stop recording, and I do know how to merge them later, but it would be real nice if I didn't have to have any post-production work. I'm doing all this solo and if there's a setting or plugin I can use to let me do this, I would love to hear about it.

Thanks bros and broettes.
