Is this a bug?

I've noticed that when I create a scene using a Browser Source, if I let the video play through to the end and then begin the next video that Youtube offers, the url of the source is changed to the new one. After that, refresh restarts the second video rather than the one I want. In order to fix it, I have to delete and recreate the source. Is this expected behavior?

There's probably a big copyright issue with that. The video you start on might be creative commons, but then YT recommends and auto-plays one that isn't, and you get slammed for *that*.

YouTube is not designed to be a source for other content. Don't use it as such.

Apparently, you're not familiar with reaction videos on Youtube. Be that as it may, you seem to have missed my point. If I let the video I"m commenting on run to its end, Youtube plays another video automatically. That's to be expected. What's not expected is that after that happens, my Browser Source no longer plays the video I selected. That seems rather odd to me.

For example, I entered this url into the Browser Source URL line: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SEPgBVlRfZo

Then I let the video play through the end so Youtube would start a new video. Then I hit Refresh. Instead of playing the video from the URL above, it began playing the video that Youtube cued up. If I then look at the Browser Source URL fiield, this is what I see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SEPgBVlRfZo Notice that the URL has not changed. And yet OBS is playing the new video.

If I refresh the cache, it still plays the second video. There is no way for me to return to the video I want except to delete the source and recreate it or close OBS and reopen it. ISTM that OBS ought to only play the video from the URL that is entered into the URL field.

Apparently, you're not familiar with reaction videos on Youtube.

Reaction videos *could* be fair use, but not always. Proof must always be in court, case-by-case. No firm guidelines.

Are you ready for that? Just because a bajillion of them exist, doesn't mean they're legal. You might be the next random, and legitimate, target.

For the actual issue, I think it's expected. There's exactly one URL, and it changes for the new video. Because OBS saves automatically, that new URL is now "it".

I'm not sure that I understand you. I went to Youtube and pulled up a random video. Then I moved the bar to the right to end it and waited for the next one to play. Here's the URLs

They are different URLs. But, in the Browser Source, the URL isn't changing. It remains the same even though the second video has begun playing.

Is that really how it should work?

Probably a *display* bug in the settings box, would be my guess. Things aren't normally expected to change on their own, like this does, and so the UI update doesn't happen.

Well, it's not a huge problem. I can recover from this by simply closing and reopening OBS. I thought I'd point it out because the developers might not be aware of the issue.
