Is there any way to record background apps?

On OBS, when I add a window capture for a minimized app, it freezes. I still need to record that app even though it isn't on my screen. I don't have a second monitor so is there any way I could do this?

Window capture is the right way, indeed!
You just have to avoid minimizing those app! Just leave it open in the background, thats all. You may put other windows in front of that, but the window-capture will stick with the wished window. (Just minimizing it prevents the window from being rendered, hence the capture freezes.)
