Question / Help Is there a way to record only the audio, apart from the video?

I tried searching for the .mp3 output in configuration but as far as I scanned all of the tooltips I couldn't find something that would allow me to record only and exclusively the audio. Not even a tool to convert the video file into audio only. Any thoughts?

You can record a video and then use VLC to make a mp4/m4a file that only has the audio part. I think you can custom output (FFMPEG) and set the container to mp3. Try that too.

On another note, what I was hoping is that the program itself had a way to record only audio so my group and I would not need to convert after or do something much more elaborate and could immediately upload it. They are not really good with softwares and unfortunately we need a very simple solution.

Why you don't use something that is actually build for that like audacity?

obs is kind of overkill for audio (it's a video recorder, not an audio recorder!), so try using audacity or just windows' inbuilt voice recorder
