Hey guys, first of all thank you all for being on these forums and helping the new (or even experienced) users work out some of our troubles. OBS really is an amazingly versatile program and I absolutely love it.
The thing is, initially for the project my friends and I are working on we intended to live stream AND record. But that just isn't feasible with our budget and resources. Now it's all about recording. We have a main, workhorse camera but through a PC we have 2 HD Logitech C920s operating at 1080p, plus a third HD C920 connected/utilized by a browser window (website uses flash). I've realized that in order to record the webcams at 1080p, each webcam needs an instance of OBS Studio running to solely pick up and record video from the webcams. In addition, a third instance of OBS Studio is up to capture the browser window as a "Display Capture" (separate monitor), fullscreen 1080p ((although realistically we could problem downgrade that to 720p if we absolutely had to)).
tl:dr; We've basically needed to recreate a low-budget alternative to an in-studio multi-cam shoot. I don't have any specific logs to post but I will post PC specs at the end.
I've run into that, even with the powerful PC we're running, trying out different formats, the time it takes for the footage to "Stop Recording" and what I guess is compile or organize itself, is so off putting on any setting but using NVENC on "Lossless", which still appears to be pretty low quality. I don't know if OBS is the resource we need at this point and if it is, I'm a little confused after doing so much testing as to how to get good footage in a timely matter, and not have everyone standing around while "Stop Recording" processes (assuming it hasn't actually frozen).
PC Stats
Windows 7 Professional 64bit
4GHz Intel i7-4790K (I7-4650U CPU @ 1.70GHz x4)
GeForce GTX 970
