Question / Help Is it safe to increase my settings?

OBS is suggesting a video bitrate of 6000 and 1080p@30fps. I would actually like to stream in 1080p@60fps, but when I use the auto test for 60fps OBS suggests to downscale to 720p. It doesn't seem to my that my hardware is under strain while streaming and I have an upload rate of 35Mbit. Also I am only playing/streaming Hearthstone, which isn't demanding high CPU power anyways.
Do you understand why OBS doesn't want me to use 1080p@60fps? Am I missing something that might limit the video bitrate (I think it depends on my available hardware ressources and upload bandwith)?

When you only stream hearthstone you can try 1080p@60fps. When playing high motion games like Call of Duty or something you will see quite large pixelation on stream.

But with hearthstone you should be fine. Just try ist out. Im pretty sure it will work fine. For 1080p@60fps you need around 12MB/s upload with high motion games.

Thanks for the answer Maggi. Should I then adjust the Video Bitrate Setting in OBS to something higher (12MB/s) or are the Settings in OBS actually not for the upload rate but for something different? Like I said, my upload rate is a lot higher, so I could increase that number a lot if needed.
For ressource heavy games like PUBG which I am considering to stream I will have to decrese the fps again, because my System will not be able to handle it.

For non-featured streamers the maximal bitrate is 6000KB/s. So even when you give OBS more Upload this won't take effect.
And a little tip from my personal experience: when you stream PUBG do it in 720p@60fps (or 30fps). PUBG is a high motion game. So when you stream it in 1080p it will blurry when you look around.

Ok, that's good to know. :)
Since you are more experienced, could you tell me if you would let the whole game run in 720p@60fps when you stream it in that Resolution/fps, or would you still Play it in 1080p@60 and then let the program downscale it to 720@60?

You can stream with whatever Bitrate you want actually though 6000 is rated as the current ingest limit everything above might be considered as an excessive usage and possibly end up with a ban.

To your main Question. The Tool doesnt really check your Hardware or anything else its just a rough assumption and with that a suggestion what you can start with. You feed the tool with information and it will give you an answer limited within its range. You want "smooth" high fps footage then the Tool will suggest 720p60 and the other way around.

You streaming HS actually would be fine with 1080p60 and 3500 Bitrate since theres barely any movement on the Board.
