Question / Help Is it possible to use my laptop as my webcam when streaming?

I stream on my computer, and don't have money for a webcam at the moment. My laptop has a built in webcam, and I was wondering if it was possible to somehow link the two together? I was thinking maybe I could run a double sided USB cable and try to access it as a device.

Anyone have any ideas or know if that will work? I don't want to mess around and screw something up :D

I tried looking around but found nothing.

They don't make double-sided USB type A cables, because plugging one in would result in a short. (They do make ones with an adapter in the middle for file transfers, but they won't help here)

If both machines are on the network, there are remote virtual webcam programs that you could run on the laptop. Google is your friend on this one. They don't work well, and are a major hassle to sync with your voice due to the delay.

There is ip webcam software there it is nearly instant, I'll post back shortly w/ a link. I'm just a bit tired atm, oh and some webcams can be shared directly over your network like a printer or scanner so using sharing may work.
