Bug Report Is it possible to save my stream file?

My computer crashed after 4 hours of local streaming. I have a large output file saved on my computer from the session, but it isn't playable. Is there a way to salvage it? I just started using obs over XSplit and wasn't aware obs required time to prep a recording for viewing when you finished streaming or got cut off :(

if your computer crashed during the recording then it's probably not salvageable. what you could try and do is, see if it plays in other programs other than windows media player. try VLC or Media Player Classic. If it doesn't play then it's probably not salvageable :(

No dice... bummer. I was hope it was somehow possible to tell obs to build the file like normal :/

I'm not certain, but if you save as FLV instead of MP4 it might save as it goes. Repackaging the FLV as an MP4 is fast and easy afterwards.

The latest test build no longer has to spend any time "building" a mp4 file after completion, sorry about the trouble though.
