Question / Help Is it possible to record Xbox 360 with OBS? (+ what settings?)

Today I tried to use OBS to record xbox gameplay along with the footage from my webcam for a facecam video. However, when I tried to stream I got a black screen, with my face in the corner. I know that OBS recognises the game capturer (Hauppauge HDPVR 1) as it was available when I added a video capture device. I have a feeling that the reason is something to do with the way I configured it, so I was wondering if anyone knew the settings I should use!
Thank you

Hauppauge isn't directly supported as a device (yet, we will eventually get it in), You need to capture the hauppauge program via window capture or monitor capture instead.

some tips for your recording.
make the hauppauge video screen as large as you can get it, this will help with quality as you're sampling a larger video.
take a screenshot of your video, put it into a paint program and crop the video.
this will let you know how large the video portion is. this resolution should be different than the resolution coming out from the console as its within a box. so while you might be streaming in 1080, what is shown in windows could be under 480 because of the resolution of your computer and the size of the container you're able to view it in.

once you have the video resolution size you can base your kbps around it.
