Question / Help Is it possible to record without streaming using OBS

Hi there!

I'm quite new to OBS, and first of all I'd like to thank you for your great work on this wonderful tool!

I found myself wondering if I could use OBS not to stream, but to "just" record videos locally on my computer, is this possible?
As we can setup OBS to "save a local copy of our streams" I was thinking of using it as a record tool too, as it compresses and encodes vids very well IMHO.

Well, just select "File Output Only" from "Mode" under Broadcast Settings.

You can also just click Start Recording instead of Start Streaming if you already have something set up, as this will merely record and not attempt to stream to anywhere.
